Thursday 2nd-County Kerry thru Co. Cork and Co. Tipperary to Co. Kilkenny

Well since we had no other plan that to revive Co.Kerry's ecomony and arrive at a reasonable hour in Kilkenny we all got to have a quite late start -9ish for Breakfast-well I wasn't quite that lazy and arrived 8ish to a pretty empty dinning room. John and Sandra -our hosts- and I chatted abit about our 'holiday' so far, home and their 'holiday' plans for the Winter in Florida; they where kind enough to also let us plan on the security of the B&B parking until we left town. Sandra also got me a pot of coffee, while I was reading in the Garden during the packing-the-bags extravangza in all four rooms. I then got into sherpa mode and completed the load out of the Convoy prior to heading into town. Plan was 1pm on the road. I lasted-this is probably a stretch-for an hour of shopping; then I found a nice little cafe by the square and enjoyed the passing scene and a few cups. The counter lady was a hoot, she had a map of the world and was 'pinning' a spot for everyone who came in that day and bought a cup of coffee, cyclists from Spain and Italy, a couple famlies from Norway, three guys from Brazil in for a soccer tour, some other Americians, and one group from Canada and then the 'co.Kerry guy'-I was wearing the right hat from Washington state-which was a whole other discussion; she tried to pin me as a DC guy. The 7 returned on the ish side of 1 and we stuffed -Rose was the winner on that round by volume with the new quilt for Molly's room in it's very own lovely 'trash bag'- the prizes into/onto the luggage and motored off to Kilkenny via the N72 to Mallow and then the N73 to Mitchelstown. As fortune would have it we needed a neccessary stop there and the Convoy needed fuel, and we also found another shrine to have a spot of a snack. Then back onto the N8 thru Cahir and Clonmel and the N76 to Kilkenny; arriving 6ish-somewhat of a record for us on the trip so far. Teresa and Pat [he's a vetran of the USN/Seabees] whom both reimmeimigrated back to Ireland;having both been born in Co Killkeny, moved to New York where they meet and married; got us settled in and Pat had also run down where to go fishing for me! This B&B had the BIG room and all the single ladies-Inga, Amanda[well almost single], Megan and Molly[both of whom I am sure will be single for a long long time] boarded together. We ambled into town, and the Mom's all found a band of locals to chat up, found a nice 'old' pub for dinner and tottered back to our beds. Along the way ran into another group just coming home from pratice-hurling; and yes KILLKENNY is in the All Ireland Hurling Finals for the EIGHTH year; who tried to get Megan and Molly to sign on. Thus ended day 6.
