Tuesday the 31st.-road trip south thru the Burren, to the Cliffs of Moher, to Burnratty and on to Kilkenny.

Well today we get to explore the country side, after our last breakfast with Mary we load up the Convoy and hit the road-N18 to the N67 south thru the Burren in County Clare. Spectluar views on the winding -with stone fence edged roads- Molly announced that she was glad that she did not take the class that visited the Burren-they where cold and wet. We however had another fine sunny day. The neccsary 1st stop was Ballyvaughan, where we had to post back to Mary the keys Molly had brought with her. After seeing the many little shops the caterering staff also visited the Spar Grocery for lunch supplies. Then we proceeded down the road; onto the R78-R roads can best be described as 'improved alley width' -bordered by stone fences on both sides-with blind [and sometimes even signed] curves around every farm-and you ususally will meet a full size BUS oncoming on those curves-or for added excitment you will overtake a Tractor pulling assorted fram gear. We arrived at the Cliffs of Moher; and used their new and spacious parking lot; then tromped across the R78 towards the cliffs. And behold-there be more shops-built into the hillside, it was decided the would be part of our exit strategy. The Cliffs have a awesome view, both to the north and south, and we also could see some of the 1000's of seabirds that nest on the Cliffs. We-as we climbed the North Head, had a lovely musical soloist on her harp. On the south side-there was again awesome views and of course Molly and Kas had to climb over the sign that said 'closed-no entry' for even more views. Then we proceeded to Ennis for a grand picnic lunch-the city has a great little picnic pull off; but not a neccessary-had to visit the gas station for that. Then back onto the N16 for the junction for Bunratty-where we arrived @ 5pm-as they closed. Oh well as Molly says-the tour is 'lame' so off to the shops. We proceeded to close the shops [6pm] and moved on to Dirty Nellies and a pint. About then we did decide to call the Killarney B&B-they expect you in about 6ish-and we where 3+ hours out. They'd keep the light on for us. So down the N21 around Limmerick and on to Abbeyfeale for the next neccessary stop and dinner at the only establishement still serving food-a nice little Pizza place that the 'owner of 2 days' was happy to accomodate us at. And on to Killarney on the N21-N23. So far the Convoy had not been disrupted; but in Killarney-as we again used the 'braille' and shout out nagaviation system the SUV was seperated off. Not to worry they bounded into th Garda station and got 'just so' renavaigation directions; while we in the lead circled around-thru the summer 'festival' crowds-all arriving athe the B&B within moments of each other. Thus ends Day 4.
