As i write this here in this nice air conditioned internet cafe to escape the heat as it is genuinely too hot for me to sit on the beach my eyes are filled with water, i am not sure if its just me feeling vulnerable after last nights antics of bucket drinking, shisha smoking and dancing on tables on the beach, or if its because i cant put in to words how much i love it here and feel slightly overwhelmed by everything from the people, the food and just the paradise that is Phi Phi island. I love it here. I walk past signs in doors saying rooms for rent and think i wonder how much it would be, and see signs for people looking for waitresses or dancers and think yeh i will do it take me!
We arrived in Phi Phi over 3 nights ago after spending two nights in Phuket. We didnt get to see much of Phuket as arrived late on and only had one full day there until we headed on again, but in the short time we were there i lost my bank card (bad times) had an hour long thai massage where they contorte your body and put you into positions you didnt know you could do, ate in a thai tree house surrounded by orchids, spent an hour screaming about a spider the size of my hand in the room that Tina had to rescue, chocked in a restaraunt on a stalk (full on coughing fit and threw up in my hand) and walked down patong to experiance the weirdness of it all and frown at the sex tourists! That summed up to Ko phi phi we headed.
Where do i start..... We get off the ferry from phuket and step on to what can only be described as paradise and are escorted to our hostel which is in the hills while are bags are carried for us through winding little streets with friendly faces. The hostel when we get there is far better than we expected from the reviews and the staff are so friendly will do anything for you. After spending our first night on the island me and Christina decided straight away that 3 nights here was simply not enough so booked and extra 4 nights here in a cheaper hostel just next door to the one we were in previously.
The 2nd day on the island was accompanied by the worst hangover i think of my time travelling so walking up what felt like a million steps to the viewpoint was not my finest hour. Well worth it when you get to the top to see the view of the island. I actually cried it was sooo beautiful, if you think i am being a d*** check my pics out on FB you may cry with extreme jealously though rather than overwhelming joy. Since arriving here we have not done a lot other than chill out through the day and chill out on the beach on a night enjoying the fire throwing entertainment. We got speaking to a nice lady who taught us some tricks and some nice Michael Jackson fire dancer who offered to teach me and Christina to do it on the beach but we have felt so rough that we have not been yet, but i think i will defintely take him up on the offer while here. The tattoo shops are also amazing here, they do them traditionally with bamboo and a blade attached to the end. In a rather drunk state i took some pics to a guy last night who is doing me a design today and i get to check it out tonight! I will prob bottle it like but just wanted to see what he came up with as the artwork is some of the best i have seen so it might be a shame not to get one while here.
So we have said bye to Rob today as he has headed to Chang Mai and Me and teen thought it was a bit far to go to come all way back again to meet Sam in Bangkok so we are going to do the North when we come back in May. We have 4 more nights here and are going to go on a boat trip while here where you go snorkelling, kayaking, watch the sunset, go to monkey beach, visit a cave and visit the bay where the Beach was filmed. Also a local guy recommended that we visit Ko lan ta? which is another island where we can do elephant trecking before heading to bangkok so we will prob stay there for two days.
I have so much i want to say about Phi Phi but i am a little stuck for words as its everything here that makes it paradise. Package holidays for me now when i come back are going to be a thing of the past, i think ill just come to Thailand every year instead - lol. honestly though genuinely stuck for words - shocking for me i know.
I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for drunken phone calls and texts to family friends and Sam. Its safe to say i have used my months credit over the course of a few nights. I think i will be leaving my phone at the hostel now on a night so i dont make this mistake again. Miss everyone back home soooooo much. Love to you all x x x x
