Slightly sleep deprived and excited about the arrival of Sam Man Fur tomorrow i write this from the Hostel we are staying at in the craziness that is Bangkok.
After my last blog i have so much to write about but will pick the best bits and scrap the bucket n chang drinking, amazing food and beach action. So after Rob left us me and Tina booked onto a boat trip from Phi Phi island, where they take you to monkey beach, Phi Phi Lay, Maya Bay (the place where the beach is filmed), snorkelling and Kayaking. What an amazing day. Monkey beach was interesting as when we arrived we were told not to feed the monkeys but some divs (love that word just remembered it from like 1992) decided to give them watermelon which in turn made them start fighting and get abit nasty. It was quite disturbing to watch what you thought was a mother monkey trying to rescue her tiny baby from a falling branch to suddeny realise that the monkey was trying to shake the baby off the branch. The tour guides on our boat were pretty good when the elder monkeys ganged up on the baby and tried to scare them off, but it didnt work and we left the bay watching a small monkey nearly drowned (sad times) Onward we headed where we saw some of the most amazing sites, lucky for us we saw dolphins on the way back and we didnt realise how rare this is until speaking to islanders after who were shocked at our sights it was fantastic, the sunset on one side and group of dolphins on the other. Christina had a little happy moment it was nice to see, she also tried snorkelling for first time - go Routh! she has been on a right mission since we have been out trying new things everyday.
So more fun was had in Phi Phi in our next few days - Ears were pierced whilst drunk, tables were danced on and fire dancing was given a go without the fire. The boat trip from Phi Phi was a sad one, but something tells me ill be back to Phi Phi for sure.
We arrived in Ko lanta after the nice Thai guy at Ingaphu guest house recommended us to go there and we were glad we did. Not as lively as its neighbour but the beach was incredible wher unlike Phi Phi the water was deep and you could swim to cool down. We stayed at the nicest hostel - The Seapearl which was family owned and they went out of there way to make you feel great, thai people are so kind and genuine they really do go out of there way to be nice to you (well in most cases anyway) So here is where we did our Elephant treking. It was amazing, i had mixed feelings when travelling to the national park as i thought it may upset me but the elephants seemed pretty looked after and there was no jumping through hoops or anything just a trek to somewhere a walk around a cave (as the waterfall had no water flowing beacause of the lack of rainfall) and back again. One the way back our tour guide took our Elephant for a little detour into a stream so our Elephant Jambo could give us a nice snot wash! Lovely - but extremely fun. Two days was enough in Lanta as it really is for couples - its so romantic, recommended for those of you who want that. I had had enough of wooing Tina and getting nothing but greif lol so we moved on.
So we have just arrived in bangkok today after spending around 16 hours on ferrys, mini buses and a overnight coach and suprisingly its the best night sleep i have had in ages the coaches are somewhat of a luxury - better than some hostels we have stayed in. So woken up at 5.30 this morning and shoved into the busy streets of bangkok we spent about half an hour driving round with some taxi drived who didnt know where he was going, eventually my frustration got the better of me and i asked him to pull up and we got our of the car (he would not listen to me - just driving in circles!) We managed by asking locals to find our way eventually on foot, and couldnt believe how busy it was already so early on in the day. We got changed and headed straight to Khosan Road where i had a nice spicy breakfast of vermicelli noodle salad with seafod and went for a wander. Already we have been to Wat Pho to see the Giant sleeping Buddah which is 46 metres long and had a wander around the temple. It was truly beatiful - Glistenning with gold and so well looked after. Tomorrow we are heading to the massive outdoor market and then i am meeting up with Mr Tee. I am sooo excited. Next time i update this i will prob ne in Vietnam where our Journey around South east asia really gets going. cant bloody wait.
Love to all them Yorshire folk out there than nos
P.S. I think my accent is actually getting stronger i tell thee
