There isn't as much to tell about Adelaide because it isn't as big and not as much is happening....and thats exactly what we were looking for! We're on Day 5 of 6 here and we're staying at Glenelg Beach, about 25mins outside of Adelaide, and its HOT! This is sort of a sleepy coastal village with only one hostel, a small high street and a supermarket but the beach is superb and the sun hasn't stopped shining. We're getting through a bottle of sun screen every day but its a small price to pay for lazy days on the beach and occasional forays into the sea. It's a welcome retreat after a relatively hectic month.

When we were flying in from Sydney the outback scenery was fantastic, it shows you how sparse so much of Australia really is. We made it into Adelaide city a couple of days ago but we can't really tell you much about it because it reached 43 degrees and we just jumped from under one tree to another as the heat was too oppressive to do anything! It was another day in a botanical garden finding shade. With Sydney and Adelaide we're becoming botanical experts! Adelaide gets a lot of stick from Australians but whilst it doesnt have the international appeal of Sydney it does feel much more like a city we'd have back home and its really liveable (it also happens to have a big immigration drive on!).

Next we're off on a flight to Mackay on a the East Coast, we're going to brave the tropical rains to arrive near the Whitsunday Islands beforte working our way up to Cairns by March 5th.
