So already one week on since the elephant nature park... When I started to write this I thought I had had a really lazy week doing not very much, looking back in my journal I have done more than I realised! Chiang mai is a city in the north of Thailand that has so many glittery temples that even after a week I haven't seen them all. By night they sparkle in the moon light and by day those that are not filled with tourists and backpackers are truley peaceful....

I went with high expectations and have been overwhelmed by how much the experience was better than I could have ever dreamed. So Thailand appears not to be for tall people but it is for the lazy! You can taxi or tuktuk anywhere! There are any number of very friendly people offering directions and transport! My room is just off kho San road which is the main tourist trap...you can tell any sort of t shirt, little trinket, tarot, suits tailored you could ever wish for is here!
