It's Friday 24th August and we have just spent 2 delightful days at a place called Kingston on the edge of Lake Ontario and the beginning of the St Lawrence River. It's of historical importance to Canada as it was a strategic position in stopping America overpowering Canada. What we are finding it difficult to believe is that summers can be high 30's (today 29) but in winter the river and lake freezes over and it is used for ice skating and in some areas cars even drive on it. Temps in winter average -8 degrees.
Bill has been a magnificent driver - although he has a fantastic navigator -Bill would say Tom Tom -the navigation device - is doing all the work but you don't always believe what he says…
Our B&B is lovely again- different but great. Breakfasts are always the highlight - maple syrup tends to feature prominently. This morning waffles. Wonder what tomorrow will bring. Bye for now.

Rhonda Glad to see the backpack was where it should be! I have a friend who lives in Ohio and I find it hard to comprehend how hot it gets in summer but then snows in winter. It is sooooo cold here- enjoy the warmth.
Tanya Wright Great to see you on Skype! Hope you get a good sleep and look forward to the next blog!
Pam Bissett Gordon remembers stopping there but it was only brief - coffee and donuts.
