Good Morning - well we had a great and INTERESTING day yesterday. Lovely breakfast, still having difficulty with the seasonal fruits, cherries blackberries peaches, etc. Then Janet a cousin of Bill's he hasn't seen for 50 years came from Buffalo (USA) to collect us and we had a little trouble on return journey finding a bridge to cross the Niagara and of course immigration. We had a Visa that you have when you don't need a visa (so the travel agent told us)- well we have decided you need a REAL visa as were told to pull over and enter a building - only to find very crowded with approx. 10 terminals of very official looking custom guys processing documents. Once inside you couldn't get out. So a 45 minute journey took us 2 ½ hours. Oh well we finally got to our destination, had a lovely lunch and catch up on a few lost years. Iain and Janet then gave us a scenic tour down to the edge of Lake Eerie and the city of Buffalo ending up in a Cajun restaurant for dinner. We walked back to the car and about to get in a I glanced at Bill and noted he WAS NOT CARRYING the backpack which had passports etc. WELL you have never seen someone sprint so fast back to the restaurant… Fortunately it was still where he had placed it…lucky for him otherwise we may have had to become American Citizens.
We decided we should be dropped off the USA side and we would walk across the bridge and we did so and are here to tell our story.
