Hello.. we are in Chile having a holiday from travelling. Relaxing by the beach eating ice cream and celebrating Elle's birthday with yummy chilean wine! It's been a busy week, from cusco and machu pichu we went down to Arequipa and climbed El Misti, a volcano 5800 metres high. I think I'm done with altitude now, but it was great fun. Left for the base camp at 9am and got up there by 2.30 pm, had some food and lay around until bedtime at 7pm and then dragged ourselves out of bed at 1.30am for the 5 hour slog to the top... very glad to see the sun come up. From here we are a bit unsure about our plans, probably off to Bolivia again in the next couple of days then Argentina......
