The journey was horrendous!
We got to the border crossing at 3am it it didn’t open until 7am so they made us wait on the sweaty bus for 4 hours! They didn’t even tel us what was going on so it was all rather confusing.

We then got off for the border crossing in the fog and rain, and took forever for us to get our passports in, as locals were dropping clumps if passports in front of us... there was no such thing as a queue. In the end the 7 of us grouped our passports together and put them in front of the window! We finally got through. Then went to get on our bus with the locals to the Vietnam crossing... but he made all the foreigners walk! We didn’t know where we were walking and it was so foggy! We finally got through then headed back on the bus!

We didn’t arrive in Hanoi until 9pm! We arrived at republik backpackers by taxi and it was so good to arrive after 32 hours! We were so hungry, we walked to the nearest McDonald’s and ordered a meal each and shared a box of 20 chicken nuggets!
