Today was the Second day of the slow boat. We survived in our wooden shack and were looking forward to making it to Luang Prabang. We had breakfast at our dodgey hostel and also took a takeaway noodle lunch with us.

Boarded the slow boat for one last journey, the scenery was beautiful but I think we had all had enough by then! We ended up turning the chairs around so we could play card games with each other! Was a very tedious journey.

When we did finally arrive it was a nightmare getting all the luggage off the boat. All the luggage is at one end and when you get off is the other. All the luggage was put under the boat, so it had to be pulled off and dragged pat everyone to the other end. Was so tedious and took forever. You also had to be careful as boat workers would just pick up bags and take them and then charge you for taking your bag!

Once we finally got off the boat, we all hoped into a tuk tuk which took us straight to our hostel ‘Vongprachan Backpackers’. It was a nice hostel and quite central. Hostels in Laos aren’t as nice as what you would see in Thailand.

That night we went to the Night market and got some super cheap food and then went to Utopia bar, which had a great vibe, I think that’s were all the backpackers were. However we got there too late as it shuts early.
