Well, Queenstown is so great we ended up staying a whole week! Tom did his very high bunjy jump like a pro, so impressive! On Monday (my birthday!) we went on a trip to the Milford Sound. Took 4 hours on a coach to get there but definitely worth while. We made a few photo stops along the way, lots of mountains and waterfalls to look at. When we got there we had a 2 hour boat trip which included a buffet lunch, yum! We cruised through the Sound to the Tasman sea and then back again. We were lucky with the weather it didn't get too cloudy untill we were on the way back, so had some good views. Despite it being a very long day I was not allowed to go to bed when we got back, so we went out to celebrate my birthday with Ruth, Siim and Malin (aka Team Sweden). Also stumbling upon lots of others from our bus throughout the night. Had a very good night although drinking shots out of a teapot is not such a good idea if you want to get up the next morning!
We enjoyed the good food in Queenstown, a few Fergburgers and a 20' pizza included in this! Took the gondola ride up to the view point over Queenstown and qhile we were up there did some luging. Basically little carts which you race on a down hill track, good fun but I wasn't that good a match for Tom, the only times I did manage to win were when he was stuck on the start line!
Didn't do too much else in Queenstown, one day it rained the whole day so there wasn't much to do! Its a lovely place to just hang around though. Off to Kaikoura tomorrow......
Apologies that the blogs are getting shorter, the end of our trip is near now and we're really trying to make the most of it!!
