And hello again everyone!

I have now arrived at Magnetic Island for a relaxing day but I have to say it didn't start well yesterday. I arrived without any incidences but the hostel is a party hostel so not really my cup of tea. The kitchen is small and not particularly clean and there aren't enough pots and pans around to cook. In addition, hardly any of the stoves work! Am staying in an 8 bed mixed dorm and had someone very drunk in the room last night so was woken up at 2am and struggled to get back to sleep. But I won't let them get me down, I am only staying there for one more night before I head off to the Whitsundays. Off to enjoy the beaches for wee bit today.

Thought I would be able to upload my photos but not from the hostel, it doesn't recognise my card reader so unfortunately, you will have to wait a bit longer for the photos! But I promise, they will come eventually.

PS: And just in case you were wondering why Magnetic Island is call Magnetic Island, well, I can answer that: Apparently, it was named by an Englishman who discovered the island (not the first one I may add, the Portuguese and the Dutch were there before the English) and found that his compass wasn't working. He threw it out and ordered some new ones. But these didn't work either. So he decided to name the island Magnetic Island. And indeed, there are polarising minerals in the granite so that you can't get a compass to work on the island! Interesting, don't you think?

Off to Airlie Beach today, just another couple of hours before heading off. The weather isn't as nice as yesterday so just as well that I am leaving! Three days of sailing at the Whitsundays ahead of me... Don't get too jealous!!!
