It's me again!
But in order to track my trip on the map, I thought it would be good to add another short blog from Alice Springs. I arrived in Alice Springs at midnight, after a 460km journey from Ayers Rock.
There tends to be a lot of wildlife on the road at night, like cows, camels and kangaroos. Unfortunately, kangaroos seem to be a bit suicidal around here and two just run into our bus! It just makes a little 'thump' and that's pretty much it. Rather the roos than our bus I'd say!
Anyway, there isn't really that much to see or do for half a day in Alice Springs although lots of day tours are on offer. But I have to catch my train at 6pm this afternoon to Darwin and I don't want to miss that as there are only two trains per week! The train will arrive in Darwin on Friday night, 6:30pm, well, if it isn't running according to an English schedule that is.... On Saturday, I am off for a five day tour around the National Parks (Litchfield and Kakadu) but will be back in Darwin on Wednesday night. I am sure you will get an update soon after!
Keep smiling, I will try to after 24 hours on the train....
Yvonne
