G'day everyone!
I hope you had a good weekend, I certainly have! I met up with Scott and Louisa and we were blessed with glorious sunshine although the strong wind prevented us from taking the boat out on the ocean. But let me start at the beginning...
I arrived on Friday afternoon in Coffs Harbour but had to wait for an hour before Scott was able to pick me up. So I decided to go to the nearest pub and have a drink while waiting for him. Well, needless to say that I wasn't the only one in the pub but I didn't expect to be the only woman amongst 60 odd other men!!! My God, I have never felt more out of place than then! But Scott arrived in time to bail me out before I got chatted up too much! We went for something to eat and waited for Lou to arrive from Sydney before heading back to the same pub! Well, it was certainly a much more mixed crowd but it was packed! Apparently, it one of the two places to go on a night time in Coffs! Hard to believe but true...
As the sun was shining we decided to take Scott's boat out on Saturday and drove all the way to the Clarence River. We were thinking of going wakeboarding but changed our mind after dipping our toes into the water... So we went fishing instead. Well, we tried. I (as the only one who had never fished before!!!) was the only one who caught a fish albeit a very small one, even though Scott's boat had all the funky gismos that were trying to tell us that there were plenty of fish about... Ah well, we had a good time anyway.
And today was another lovely day, so I enjoyed topping up my tan while Scott was enjoying his lay-in. After Lou came back from her run we kicked Mr Hunter out of bed and spent the day seeing the local sights. We went to Sealy Head lookout before heading to Sawtell for a nice lunch. Afterwards we drove back to Coffs and went for a walk to MuttonbirdIsland. I certainly loved my weekend and it was good to catch up with Scott after over 2.5 years. We are currently relaxing with a glass of wine watching mind numbing TV, which is an amazingly good feeling as I don't get to do this very often these days. But I am sure that is all going to change shortly as I'll be back in less than 10 days!!!!
My plans for the rest of the week are meeting up with Craig in Newcastle on Tuesday night before moving on to Sydney on Wednesday and Canberra on Friday to see Snoozy Pete. And while I am at it, I have also arranged to meet up with Ian Clementson in Brisbane before flying home on Tuesday, which will be good. And that's it from me. Enjoy the photos and the last week of YA being on her trip around the world. And don't forget....
Keep smiling!
Yvonne
