I had an amazing day! My friend David drove all the way up from San Diego and Meghan, David and I walked down the pier chatting all the way and joking and catching up on all the UC gossip and stuff. We then drove to the UCLA campus in his (dad's) car. We drove around the area a bit, gawping at all the huge villas and joking about all the RIDICULOUS jeeps/trucks/cars with 8 meter high suspension, so high that you can drive a regular sized Dutch car underneath them between the wheels, you know the kind.. And all the ferraris and other stupid cars that drive too fast round corners. We then parked somewhere in front of some Greek letter frat houses and searched and found where Meg is going to live: a very flashy residence hall called Rieber Hall. It was blazing hot on the campus which was amazing. We saw all the amazingly gorgeous red and yellow brick buildings around the campus, saw the sports fields and the library(closed, unfortunately) and found many other beautiful buildings, parks, roads and squares. Then David told us about the best burger place EVER that only exists in California, a so-called in&out burger place, so we found one on the campus and had a traditional burger for dinner xD They were quite nice actually.. probably because they used fresh ingredients unlike McD and places.. Anyway... in the end we drove back to Santa Monica over the huge 405 freeway, said goodbye to david and went back to the hostel.
I must say, I had an amazing day and am so incredibly happy that he came up from the south! It's so cool to see old friends in their own countries! Yeaaah!!!
When we got back to the hostel Meg and I went out shopping and I bought some jeans, yeaaah!! Not in Levi's, which was there on the boulevard, but in the Forever 21 which is a H&M like shop but cheaper and a bit more unique. And they had $10 jeans. And ones that fit. I mean, the material is a bit thin but they just have to last me until Australia and then I can get new ones if they're not good enough. $10 is crazy cheap :p So they're good! Yay! And then as I was on a roll anyway we found a Barnes & Nobles and I bought the Lonely Planet New Zealand and a 600 page fiction book to read in Fiji and on the 11 hour flight there as I have finished the one I was reading on the plane to here.. :p Am leaving it with Meg :p She is actually currently sitting opposite me in the lovely lobby reading my new book hahaha xD We're having such good fun! I love this :) Travelling is amazing!
