hello everyone, wow I made it to sri-lank and so did my 'companion' tim! to be honest i did have some fears and doubts about this place but in the end there was nothing to worry about! I have had a great time, we have been to many places from the hustle and bustle of the towns to the beaches (beaches where the tsunami hit and that was a horrible sight but everyone seems to be getting on with their lives which was good to see) the locals have been very friendly and even picked up an 19year old sri-lankan admiral! tired in these tuk tuks and even went on a very scrubby train, where as soon as i sat down, a cockcroach fell on my head! However, I did see some wonderful and truely amazing animals-saw elephants bathing themselves in the lake and saw a massive green turtle lay her eggs on the beach.Oh an Mr McManus made me climb this massive mountain which took me 4 hours to get up and another 2 to get back down-lets just say it was lovely to see the sun rise but my legs were not back to normal for a few days! Overall Sri-lanka has been an amazing, diverse and colourful place. xx
