Day 1 of the IDC went well! We started with an orientation, looking through the schedule and then had a lecture on Padi General Standards and Procedures. Some really useful tips from the course director Mark about how to structure an Open Water course and reminders about Dive Master responsibilities.
We had some homework about this which most of us completed during the two hour lunch break (bonus!)
The afternoon was a bit more technical, brushing up on decompression theory, and how nitrogen is calculated in tissues. I think I got there but more revision needed!
This morning we will be in the pool to practice demonstrating skills. I'm really looking forward to this as it's been part of the job for the last few months so hopefully I will feel comfortable.
This afternoon is the dreaded physics :(
I have been studying for the last week or so in preparation but I suppose it will be good to have a lecture and be able to ask questions and check my calculations!
Better go now...I've to to get on my moped with my dive gear and drive across the island to Buddha View
