We packed our bags & boarded our boat back to Bali...it wasn't long until either of us were asleep! A very bumpy & uncomfortable 2hr journey to Ubud, wedged in by bags with our knees by our necks! Not surprisingly everyone else seemed to have loads of room! Inevitably we were greeted by people as we reached Ubud centre, offering us accommodation which we too 'Nick' up on his homestay offer! To our amazement we were surrounded by beautiful temple-like buildings, made of such intricate detailed woodwork! The word 'homestay' was no exaggeration...surrounded by the owners family & kids, only to find out that the owner is no other than the priest at the monkey palace!! The welcome tea was most appreciated!
A wonder around the town without a map (as we do so well), Jo was on a mission to find some of the picturesque rice-paddies! We found monkeys no problem but struggled with the damn paddie fields!! After admitting defeat we evetually stole a sneaky peak of a field!
After Xtina had sufficiently caught up on sleep & Jo on her book we headed out with our final Rupiah in hope of a feed! After a frustrating time trying (&failing thanks to a s***e printer) to print our boarding passes we admitted defeat & withdrew more money! Definitely the right decision as we ate pizza in complete tranquility overlooking rice paddies!!
