We left the flat at 1pm, caught the bus from outside and arrived to the station in enough time to have a bite to eat at Greggs before boarding the coach to Luton. The coach was 15 minutes late which made me a bit nervous but we were soon on our way.
Once we'd got through security we had just over an hour until the gate opened. We went to the Japanese restaurant 'Wasabi'. It was amazing! Adam had a chicken curry which was really nice and I had lots of sushi. What was nice was that whilst they sold 'sets' of sushi they also sold individual pieces so I was able to try a selection. I got some with tofu, with egg and with prawns which was all delicious. We also got a selection of sweet treats including red bean pancakes and mochi balls. Adam wasn't a fan but I love the mochi dough. I treated myself to some prosecco to wash it all down with!
We went to the gate although unfortunately we departed 40 minutes late. The flight was 2 hours 15 minutes long and afterwards we did have a bit of a dash to catch our transfer due to the delay. I have to admit it was shocking how cold it was when we touched down. We were pretty prepared with jackets and scarves but I had packed the gloves in the suitcase and I couldn't feel my hands!
We checked into our hotel which was nice, it's in a good location and right next to the metro. It's a good size, quite funky.
We unpacked the gloves and headed out to the bar district. The bar I had intended us to go to had a queue as long as we could see so we walked into another bar which was playing some good music. We were able to get seats and spent the evening enjoying the 50p wine and £1 pints of beer.
We got a kebab on the way home, one of the nicest chicken kebabs I've ever had in my life, so juicy! We were asleep by about 3am, the latest bedtime I've had in a long time!!
