Hello everyone........yes we arrived safe and well extreamly tired after what worked out to be over a 24 hr journey.....Bali is amazing!!! so peaceful and tranquil all we've done is sleep!! lol no not really however it is difficult not to when its so calm in a warm tropical environment (not to mention our jet lag!!) we arrived at our hotel to be greeted with a flower chain necklace, tropical juice in a pineapple and two escorts who banged on a big dong to state our arrival!! yes we felt like royalty too! our hotel is beautiful full of tropical flowers, plants, ponds, and wildlife, (chipmunks, frogs, geko''s, birds etc) its also right on the beach just about a 2 minute walk from our room.........we really couldn't have asked for anything more.......
Day 1
We were treated to a amazing breakfast, everything from pancakes to fried rice, lol! we then decided to explore the hotel, which includes a tennis court, badmington, golf, gardens, pools, spa, hot tub and recreational activities every hour which includes....meditation.....yoga......balinese dancing, we promised ourselevs we would try them all by the time we leave. We spent the rest of the day lazing by the pool...which by the way is green, kinda resembles a river lol!! later on we went to the gym for an hour then decided to cool off in the pool.....by this time it was around 7:30 dark and in the middle of a huge thunder storm!! we appeared crazy!! as everyone else was eating their romantic valentines evening meal at the pool side!! donzy and Lucy were in the pool and hot tub in the dark, in terrentional rain, thunder, and lightening!!.......what an amazing expereince!! we then decided to find a phone to call home and let them know we arrived safely!! it continued to hammer down so we decide to take two green poncho's to walk into town with!! not a good idea!! every bus, taxi, motor bike, or other moving motor with a horn decided to beep at what looked to be two huge green frogs walking on the sidewalk!! I guess Bali has never seen a poncho before??? as you can guess we arrived at food before a telephone!! there were three carts on the side of the road selling what looked to be chicken and noodles and as we were on a 6 pound a day budget we decided to go all out and spoil ourselves with bag of chicken skewers, rice starch, and noodles which tasted absolutly amazing, and cost just 80 pence!! bargin and that gave us a pound to spend on the telephone, which of course we went over budget !! as we ate dinner on a wooden bench on the side of the raod we met a balineses guy who talked us into a cheap day tour of bali...... he has promised to take us to the rice fields.....picking fruit.....into the fishing village and the mountains..... all for twenty quid, so's we went for it.... and will update you after saturday!!
Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!! Catch up soon...........
Love Lucy and Donna x X
