The world is my school. Today my classroom was at the Giant Buddha on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year.
I woke up around noon and had a breakfast/lunch. Then without wasting anytime we headed off to the MTR to go to Tung Chai, then take the gondola at Ngong Ping to see the Giant Buddha. This is made out of 202 bronze pieces all around 10-13sq.mm. big. We waited in a 3-hour line then finally got on the longest cable car ride I've ever been in. There were 3 turns where the gondola had to actually go through a building switch wires and continue on. I would say the ride in total was 25-minutes long, but when we reached the 20-minute line you could see Buddha. This Buddha is so big that it's in the World Record Book for the biggest Buddha. I was told that by Captain O. It was amazing but by the time we got there we only had 1 hour 'til the cable car place closed so we had to rush. Seeing the Buddha was amazing and we saw lots of Chinese people praying in front of the Buddha. Buddhists are the 4th biggest religion in the world, there are around 381,610,979 Buddhists. If you were a Buddhist from India you usually wouldn't eat meat or fish, but Buddhists from China or Vietnam don't eat Onion, Garlic, or Leeks on top of not eating meat or fish.
Rapidly we started heading back. We were really starving and had a need for food, so we walked past a place that sold Traditional Chinese food and sausages on a stick. We just had to stop and get food so I got a sausage on a stick, O got Dim, Rosie got the same and Mom got Fish Balls. I tried one Dim dumpling and ate 1½ sausage on a stick. They were all so yummyJ!! Now we have to start heading back to the line for the cable car, and when we turned around there was a baby and mother cow! I kept hearing them go moo and then I looked further and saw another 5 cows! It was a cow party! I had the guts to touch one and it felt just like a dogs fur. They walk around the Buddhist monastery wild and even eat out of the trash. When we arrived at the end of the line we noticed that it was another 3-hour wait 'til we finally made it actually on the cable car. We were in with a family with a little boy and in the middle of the ride he started going: ba ba ba ba ta bo ba bi go. It was so cute!
We had a lot of patience today.

Paige Bell, I had no idea that Chinese and Vietnamese Buddhists do not eat onions, leeks or garlic. Thank you for sharing that. I can't believe that the gondola went through buildings! That is amazing. I am proud that you are learning patience. It is an important trait to have. The food sounds delicious. I like the cow party! Can't wait to hear more of your adventures.
