It's been a LOOOONG 2700km drive across the tablelands - which were indeed very flat and very dry. Couldn't have done it without a freezer full of Magnums for a one a day treat. Max threw a bit of a tantrum - conveniently though in the only major "city" in the flat prairies - but a 220$ treat later we had him humming again. The scenery change couldn't have been more drastic. Within hours we went from a dry desert climate without a tree to lush rain forest and rolling hills. The lush unfortunately is due to lots of rain... and a big city like Cairns is just not that appealing when drenched. We'll probably just get the necessities like food, beverages (read: wine) and new tires (Max is sooo demanding and high maintenance these days).
To keep you updated on the Yatzee happenings: Baebs is still ahead. we've posted a new overall high score nullifying the previous score from April 7th! We've also run out of Yatzee sheets but replacement sheets are on their way from Switzerland (Australian sheets did not live up to the highly strategic game we have developed over months of playing). Hopefully (and contrary to the weather forecast) the sun will be shining tomorrow and Cairns will get another chance to prove its charm. We'll keep you posted.
