Hooray! We're home.
After about 14 months of moving almost every day we are settled back in our little home in Bridgeland and we are LOVING it. There's a ton to do and I'm draining our "not really hot" hot water tank as we speak. It shouldn't take an hour to get wet in the shower, should it? Shovelling snow? Bring it on. Baebs is cooking up a storm (she did a COMPLETE inventory of the kitchen the same night we arrived. There's a woman who has found her calling in life). It feels great to be active and doing something other than being a tourist for a change. All of these mundane tasks seem new and fun and different. It's time to build up excitement for travel and the wonderful things that the world has to offer again.
The best part of going away is coming home and we're excited to link up with all of our friends. We've been a little slow out of the blocks and being in touch with people. There has been lots of family time, especially since my Dad gave us a little scare with a week long stay in the hospital but he's at home and doing well and we're grateful for all of our health. We've even got most of the garage unpacked and have repatriated our "stuff" back into the house.
All of our coordinates remain unchanged…phones, e-mail, address. Just don't be too shocked when you see us as we may be showing a little more grey than the last time you saw us and the Australian sun was intense so my wrinkle cream hasn't been keeping up with the new creases on my face no matter how thick I slather it on.
As for what comes next, we're still making this up as we go. Some days we're brave enough to bring up the "W" word but all in good time.
Thanks to everyone that followed along with our adventures, especially those who dropped us notes or messages along the way. It was always so great to hear from people back home. We look forward to catching up with all of you face to face in the near future.
Love from sunny Calgary
