leanna's getting her move on!!
Well I thought I better update this as dolly and pip seam to be missing me!!!
I have been in hk for a lil over 3 weeks now and i seamed to acclimatised to the weather seen as tho it's nearly 30 degrees and im choosing to go out in jeans and a jacket (apparently I have turned into a crazy local)
Well me and beth have decided to try and do and see everything there is in hk which is quiet hard when you don't get out ur pit till mid afternoon (im joking honest) so heres a quick rundown of we've been up to;
Well firstly we decided to get the tram up the peak which is like a random massiveeee hill that the town is built around which u get fantastic views over the harbour from the top (well this is when it's not covered over in a humid fog!) after this we decided to go check out the botanical gardens ohh flowers exciting I no but some of those lil wriggler plants look like they would eat me never mind flies (the film night of the trephids comes to mind!! That's killer plants if u have not seen it) but also here there were loads of monkeys to see and it kinda of reminded me of home I mean there was a ginger orange utan which had a look of our em and black monkey that looked a lot like viki (smelled a bit like her to!!) watching them roll about and shout to each other it looked like kicking out time on a Friday nite in the piper!!
We then decide we would head to lantau which is a neighbouring island to hk and after an hour of watching beths face turn various colours of green we arrived. We went and looked around the po lin monastery to witness how the monks live and go about there daily chores. Then we climbed the 268 steps to see the biggest Buddha in the world (although I have no idea who carried all 220 tonnes of Buddha up that many steps I struggled to carry Bethany) after this trip out we diced to take it easy and just head into town and have a look around the best bit about hk town is they have escalators everywhere its like they don't believe in steps they have them outside!! (I buzzed to) they are also home to the biggest outdoor escalator in the world it runs rite through central me and beth obviously went up and down this a couple of times trying to contain our excitement (we need one like this straight up ormesby bank) after all our escalator buzz me beth decided to chill out on the beach so we head into causeway bay to relax but to our surprise causeway bay was just another massive shopping Mecca (how were we supposed to no bay didn't mean beach d'oh)
The next day we head to kowloon and after what felt like hours of wandering around aimlessly we found what we were looking for bird street (which Is were im certain bird flu started!!) Its were the locals go to feed birds massive bugs like cockroaches and crickets yummy!! They also sell birds and cages here too and it is were most of the old chinease men go to walk their birds ( and yes I do mean birds not dogs) they take them out in their cages for a bit of a walk and sum fresh air they even hang them in trees while sit playing games of checkers (again another point showing the locals are crazy)
me and beth have also been out a couple of times mainly to smugglers (but with vodka mixes less than a pound why go anywhere else) we went out for st patricks day which was defiantly I good nite (I think I just rember waking up with a mout like gandhi's flip flop and beth knocking out zed's with an impressive guiness hat on her head) seriously tho we met soph and her friends in wan chai after drinking stanley dry and showing sum Americans a thing or to about English pint downing (all beths idea of course) we partied and I got ma boggie rite on (to sophs dismay) so all in all weve had sum good nites.
Well heres a couple of other things we done im gonna squeeze in we went to the Stanley military cemetery (took in some history) we saw and smelt the flower market in fa yuen street and some cool looking fruits (which I didn't no wether to eat or trow at sum1) and we also got up at sum ungodly hour of the day (7am) to go to deep water bay (yes this bay was a beach) and see the old chieanse people do tai chi and have their early morning swims (it was like watching cocoon with all these old people emerging from the water) they swim up to the shark nets and back, although I don't understand the point in having the shark nets when they are only 3 meters deep I mean im sure their clever enough to realize they can swim underneath and eat me!!
Well ive blabbed enough for now so I will update this after the rugby 7's ( a weekend devoted to going to watch buff people in mini shorts run around while drinking copious amounts of pims and beer from enormous pitchers) and when were back from phuket and dolly u can just fcuket about it(wehayy)
Miss ya's x x x
