Our first visit to Bugis Junction happened by accident, we intended to look around a shopping mall and instead we ended up on the wrong escalator to god knows where. Luckily, as it happened, we ended up in sweet shop heaven with little stalls set up selling the goods. There's a real eclectic mix of shops- crepes with fruit, cream and ice cream, fish (coated with beer) and chips, grocery store, DVD shop, a 10min haircut for $10, rolled octopus balls,miniature cream cake shops, bread factory, and sushi shops.
Walking through the store, I felt like one of the greedy kids from Willy Wonka's factory. Every store you walked past an assistant invited you to go in (which happens alot in Singapore).
After much mouth-watering we moved up a floor (to the shopping mall) with TopShop and Miss Selfridge (Diva even has it's own shop) and stores, such as a DC comic merchandise. Would you believe that on deciding to leave, we ended up on the wrong escalator again, this time we didn't go to a sweet shop, we ended up in an amusement arcade where prizes ranged from watches, money to PSPs!!
Another worthy mention in this arcade is over 50 desktop computers all wired up to the World of Warcraft game. It truly was an unbelieveable sight- to see all these people sitting in the dark, cheering and jeering at the same game. It was geek heaven!
