Weather worse today. Wix is Getting fed up of hearing about how unusual this is and wishes she'd put some money on rain for our week - with odds like that it would have paid for this part of the trip!
We took the boat to the beach at Lopes Mendes again today. This beach is gorgeous and has amazing waves and some amazing surfers too and nothing else just the sand, sea and forest. So determined are we to not let the weather spoil things we lay on our sarongs in the drizzle and ate our picnic - a first even for us! We decided we may as well go the whole hog and get drenched so went in the sea and had a great time body surfing and leaping around in the huge waves.
Because of the waves the boat actually drops you off at a nearby beach and you have to walk 20 mins. It's quite up and down and has been getting a bit slippery because of the weather. Today it was a mudbath and so it was quite funny to see tourists of all ages and sizes going down slopes on their bums in the mud and lowering themselves Tarzan style with the creepers.
Anyway we made a great day of it and treated ourselves to ice cream in the rain when we got back.
