Arrived in Hong Kong on Wednesday the 9th 18.45, Liam slept whole way on flight, Will struggled! Smelly Australian alcoholic slept on him instead!
We arrived at the YMCA to find a surprisingly nice hotel reception. However, the rooms weren't great and the beds were like sleeping on concrete (we decided to get sufficiently drunk so that we wouldn't notice) - we succeeded well!
Headed out onto the golden mile in search of some dinner, we came across a very traditional Chinese resturant and Will ended up eating a whole soft-shell crab in a hand made wrap with fish eggs after oredering it by mistake - nice.
Minutes later, we find ourselves drinking in an Irish bar with some extremely wealthy fat Yanks who owned the NASCAR racing circuit in America. They soon left us after we (Will) started on the topic of American politics. We made it back about 4am (after being ambushed by Chinese pips trying to sell us hookers). Liam, the tit, decided it would be a good idea to set a Chinese alarm clock - it wasn't! A small Chinese lady came in far too early and woke us both up tied with hang overs, thanks Liam!Second Day: We headed down the Golden Mile (road with millions of Neon's and tacky camera stores) to the VictoriaHarbour, where we took the Star Ferry tour and saw nothing because it was so foggy. We then walked around the Central Business District which was really impressive and saw loads of the sights. From there we made it to Lan Kwai Fong where we managed to get some food and yet more beer (this could be the downfall of the trip!) After a couple of beers, we decided that it would be a good idea to go to VictoriaPeak on one of Hong Kong's foggiest day's of the year. The view wasn't amazing, infact we saw nothing and decided to head home via a taxi to avoid the pimps of Kowloon. Third Day (Friday): Yet again we were woken by a Chinese woman, however it was not requested this time. We had previously booked a tour to see the sights of Lantau (one of Hong Kong's Islands), this gave us the opportunity to see some of rural China and a woman murdering innocent fish at a local fish market. The tour was good apart from the others on it.
