Hey everyone, well we got here after a short hop across the pond, we landed in JFK to 28 degrees of heat and 11am.....very nice! managed to jump in a minibus type taxi and headed to manhattan island! passed flushing meadows where andy murray was spanking Nadal at the time! GO MURRAY! haha, our 1st sight of the manhattan skyline was breathtaking, all of us where buzzing by this time with beaming smiles! after a whiteknuckle taxi ride for $80 we got to jaz on the park. checked in and headed out across central park. not realising how big cental park is it took us and hour to walk the width of it in the rediculous heat! not good! we found a subway which was even hotter and headed for grand central station, here really was the heart of NYC! never ending skyscraper above us, this is when the cameras came into action, apart from mine, yes it decided again to play up and delete all my photos again! i was so mad! i think ill br getting a new SD card and trying that. went up the empire state which was amazing, the lads got some amazing photos, i didnt :-(

by now we where starving so a shower and food was required. hooters was the destination, easy on the eye and great food! haha! after this we took a walk to time sq, this place is something else! absolutely amazing, again some great photos where taken but not by me!!! grrr! so basically our 1st day was a hectic and very busy one, we where all tired out after having no sleep for 2 days! time for bed!

day 2 started at about midday after a fat lay in! we headed to hard rock time sq for some food and then around little italy and chinatown, great places these 2, awesome food! had one of those noodle boxes and spring rolls for $2...... really nice!

we started to hear about some hurricane heading towards NY, we didnt know what to think really so we headed for a pub to watch the england game! 6 pints later and 2-0 to england we look outside to a torrent of rain and wind! oh dear yes hurricane hanna was here! not to dangerous tho! it was fun to run around in the rain though after 6 pints! haha! ended up on my arse in the middle of time sq tho, only the busiest place in the world, a huge roar of laughter soon followed! thanks! haha. we headed home with tipsy heads and sore knees for me! oh adam managed to lose one of his flip flop in the floods of water, watching him run down broadway after a flip flop in the rain was really funny! we where all in hysterics!

so today we have woken up to the hurricane easing so we might head to ground zero and staten island! booking our greyhound and digs in niagra today too.
