Hello every1!!
So!!! yesterday was a very exciting and entertaining day all round really!
We went to the panda breeding sanctuary in the morning (7:00 start!!) which was awesum and pandas are hugely cute!! Their specie is something ridiculous like 8 million years old and one of the reasons why they've become so rare is because when the babies are born they're 1000th of the size of their mum!! They a soooooooo small!!! We saw one that was less than a week old and it just looked like a little white rat baby!! very sweet though!! lols! And we got our panda cuddly toys which we have dubbed John and James!! we are massively sad wives!
Then we went for a walk around the city again and did some shopping and had some tea, just a normal afternoon out 4 most ppl...not us tho!! Oh no!! We went to a really nice little tea house and no one spoke english (as per usual) so we pointed at the cheapest thing and hoped for the best. It came out and it was really strong leafy tea and really tastey. And we got some home made biscuits and some incense sticks and 2 little books which we presumed were prayer books or sumink...no idea! THEN sarah started to feel abit funny and I think the tea may have had some sort of laxative effect on her because she suddenly really really needed to 'go'. We had no toilet roll so after much rummaging about, she decided she would have to use the Holy Book we had so kindly been given by the ppl at the tea house!! My wife, classy bird that she is was very discrete and we left pretty quickly afterwards least we got discovered!! It was very funny! When we got back to the hostel we asked wat the books were and they told us, rather than a prayer book it was 24 short stories on how to be good to your parents!! Nice one wifey!!
Last night was funsies as well! Sarah was very happy as on our shopping trip we managed to find a bottle of very nice red wine for only 7 pounds! So we drank that and had some lovely food at the hostel and met some more back packers! We later on got invited to join in with one of the staffs birthday parties! We sang happy birthday in Chinese and got involved in a HUGE cake fight and got very much more drunken! They love the cake fights out here! Were definately bringing that back to the UK!! We've met lots of English ppl at this hostel and our dorm seems to just be ppl from the UK! It's awesum! So yeh, yesterday was fun and full of very different things!! = )
It's pouring with rain here 2day so we're having a day in. Sarah's gone back to bed (again) and I'm reading Ben Elton and listening to Coheed which is making me very happy with the world! We don't think were going to be able to go to Emeishan or the Leshan Buddah now though which massively sucks!! It would be a be pointless and more dangerous on the mountain than fun, so were going to start the Yangtze River cruise a day early and go on Saturday now, which is fine! Hopefully it won't rain the whole time!! Then lots of travelling and getting down to Hong Kong where we are meeting up with Jonathan (my step mum's nephew - I think?!?) and staying with him in the city (Thanks Dad for sorting that out!! love you!!) Cripes!! Then were nearly onto Vietnam!! Times going so quickly!!
I think were going to the Sichuan Opera tonight, as there is nothing else to fo here when it's raining this much!!!! We've heard very good things, so looking forward to that!! Then I think there's a free dumpling party at our hostel 2moro night so we'll get in on that!!
Really missing talking to family and friends on the phone (and in person!) at the moment! Hope you're all doing ok and the weather's better in the UK! MESSAGE FOR SISTER: What is this job interview thingy that Grandma is talking about?? What ever it is please let me know! Can't wait to live with you! Have you talked to Dan about it? If you find any houses can you email me links? Woop!!
Love you all billions and please keep leaving mesages, they're so lovely to get!
Love Elle
