Having a pleasant chug. Going past Dover was quieter than expected. 6 ferries sighted. Ramsgate here we come!

Rounding Dungeness at 12.10. 1st dolphin of the trip guided us round and kept us safe from the crocodiles. Another headland ticked off! We were up at 5 for weather forecast and a dither. Left on the 6.00 lock. Wind has varied between flat calm and force 4-bang on the nose. Blessed with a flat sea thus far. Due at Ramsgate at 18.00 ish this evening.

Frustrating morning jobbing. WS took a bit of a bashing yesterday, which knocked out the domestic water system. Got it going in the end, but it was frightened and didn't want to play. Also had some weed round the prop, see photo section for a larf. After showers went for a stroll in the sun round the UK's largest marina. Wow, it's more like a small town! Start delayed as lock keeper said it was too shallow, we'd have to wait an hour. Shame he didn't say that when we asked him last night, would have gone an hour earlier. By the time we left, the wind was ENE, we had a sail for an hour, but couldn't make the course. So motor sailed. Wind and seas increased, and Beachy Head was fun.... Anyway, safely at Eastbourne. Looks like the decision to leave Poole a day early was correct, don't think we'll be going anyw...
