SExy Seville!!!
I arrived here two days ago, after a sad(ish) departure from Rodellar, and from climbing for a little while. I had niggling tendon pain in my arm from overuse I guess, so I cut my stay a little short to come here! I managed a lift from Rodellar with some Americans to Barcelona airport, which was sweet, and got on my cheap flight down here. I managed to only leave 1 out of my 3 projects unclimbed in Rodellar, which is nice...
The hostel here is pretty new and nicely set out, with a roof terrace and a pool, where they cook tasty and cheap meals most nights. The main clientele here seem to be after a bit of a fiesta, mostly Americans so far and a few fellow Aussies. I have to admit, I wasn't too geared for getting messy here, but peer pressure is winning over, and tonight I think I will find myself on a bar crawl...
Last night I went to a flamenco show at the famous "La Carboneria" which was pretty damn cool. There was quite a large, fearsome looking lady doing most of the stage stomping... WOW ... I have never seen any woman move like that... And so, walking out a little dazed and shaking my head in bewilderment, I hunted down a local sherry to settle myself down...
Both days I have spent walking around the city dutifully fulfilling my task as a tourist. I went to the Alcazar castle yesterday which is amazing old fort built in a really cool mix of muslim and catholic architecture. I have been to the cathedral, the Bullfighting ring and the Plaza del Espana, which interestingly was part of a Star Wars movie... In a little while I'm heading out to see a bullfight, which will be pretty interesting. This weekend is a big holiday in Seville, so it's been good timing and quite a festive feel. After the fight- the bar crawl. By the sounds of the amount of alcohol consumed at the start, I'll be lucky to crawl anywhere let alone more bars. That should be my one token night of drinking though, as I'm leaving tomorrow to hopefully reach the shores of Morocco in the evening =)
Thats more or less all I have to report, I hope everyone one is well... Adios =)
