hey hey,
Well ive just written a nice big summery of the last few days only to find out that Natalie has beaten me to it and done it already.... so I will pick up from her.
So the nice pool that we were planning to chill next to and maybe have a little dip in was covered in swarms upon swarms of fruit flies. This made a simple game of cards somewhat difficult to play due to the continual flailing of arms to keep the flies away. They even formed a nice skin over the the top of the pool making the water look even more unappealing. However on the more positive note the poolside mocktail bar made some of the best milkshakes i've ever tasted!
So now we are in Udiapur, and as soon as we had arrived we headed straight up to the roof of our hotel where a party had been organised by another GAP tour that were staying in the same place. The party had a local DJ playing who was less than inspiring, which i still think is very generous, but still allowed Natalie to get a little dancing fix! The next morning saw many a sorry face, with two of the girls managing to loose their room key and one of them also lost their only pair of shoes!
That brings us up to yesterday, where we took a tour round the city palace of Udiapur. It had many similar features that we have encountered so far in India, however it was being set up for a seriously big wedding that is being held today. And my god some bucks had been spent on it! We then headed onto the main lake in the city for a little boat tour, on possibly the slowest boat EVER. But it did allow us to have a glimpse of the lake palace hotel which was one of the main sets for the Bond movie 'Octop**** . As a result of this claim to fame most of the eateries in the city show the film of a continual loop. And you guessed it thats what we are doing tonight. I think i'm looking forward to it more that Natalie though! Yesterday evening, Yash our tour leader took us out to dinner to his family home (he is from the city) which was awesome. His parents have a cool homestay place with lots of rooms, lots of floors and best of all a big roof top where we ate a selecton of local foods under star light, and i think it is safe to say, one of the best meals i've had in India!
Next stop Mt Abu....
Gotta fly for now, time is running out, speak to you soon.
