Lynn Hey Julia, just wanted to let you know that I have been reading every word. Can't wait to tell the girls about all the wildlife you have seen (but may skip the part about the rats!).
Gita Lukas will be envious when I tell him the animals you've seen! Thank you for your wonderful posts....and greetings from New Orleans! xx
COACH Jules. You have done well. It was your training in MUN, then using the learning at THIMUN that prepared you for this adventure. Takes photos and leave a legacy. Be well. Coach
re: Wrapping UpPappa A TRUE StoryTeller, Giulietta! Perhaps a novelletta in the future (?) --> Life in Tanzania !?
re: Safari in the SerengetiPappa I guess you won't forget this trip in a lifetime, Julia. Something to recount to your grandchildren in the years to come: My Time in Tanzania! Love ya, Pappa
re: Wrapping UpPappa Sorry about the 'blows', Giulietta. Glad it wasn't worse. Isn't Kitongo the town Humphrey Bogart had come from on his Mail Boat in African Queen when coming to the Mission Village? Hummmmm. Stay well. Pappa

re: Safari in the SerengetiChrissy Thanks as always for the wonderful blog posts, Julia! Also, I received your pictures... thanks again! I've been so impressed with how deeply involved you are able to become with your surroundings, even when you're experiencing so much change in such a short period of time. Glad you returned safely and hope your remaining days in TZ are wonderful!
re: Safari in the SerengetiSigalia & John It's a great coincidence for us to get your blog - we've just been reading Burton's "Lake Regions of Central Africa" recounting his travels of 1858 with Speke (the first European to visit Mwanza). We're really enjoying all your details and are looking forward to more! (Many thanks Ellie for sending us the link.)
re: Day 3Pappa Love your continued descriptions of those you encounter. too bad about the beach! :-( Hope you can get some sleep before you have to take that terrible trip back home! Stay well. Love, Pappa.
re: Day 3Anita Hassey Julia, your parents are with us in Ft. Myers. Jon and I are living your experience vicariously through this report. Thanks for taking us with you! Anita Hassey
re: Final PreparationsEllie Thanks, Julia, darling, I really feel like I am sitting next to you, seeing what you see andbeing in on the action! I hope your carefully planned seminar tomorrow goes well and meets your goals! (High standard)! How fortuitous you had packed the books you are putting to such good use, also photos of the family so the children can put you in a context of some sort. Hope you are getting enough to eat (after allowing time to increase your appetite!) You will be happy to hear I am sharing your blog among many mutual friends! And Happy St. Patrick's day!
re: Day 3Chrissy I hope you're able to get better sleep soon! Ivory, looking up molecular structures? What a surprise! :-) As always, I'm really enjoying your descriptions of the people and the setting. Hope you have a wonderful time on safari!
re: Day 3Ellie Disturbed sleep...it's called jetlag...flying east through many time zones...bet you have periods of drowsiness during the day! Sounds like a great experience, as well as a good challenge, to interact and to offer helpful suggestions. Surprised you can upload such good material!
