Havn't had a chance to update in a while so a lot to catch up on. First thing is first. Mum I arrive in England on Friday at 11am. San Francisco. Lovely city, biggest since New York. We spent our first day getting to know the city and generally haveing a look around. Today we went to the Ferry Building which has a famous indoors food market. Looks really nice, lots of cheese, fresh bread, meat, wine bars ect. We plan to eat lunch there tomorrow. Day 50 today. We arrived in Santa Cruz yesterday but first a paragraph on our short stay in San Luis Obispo. Obispo is a college town but is also quite small and quiet. On our second day in LA we visited downtown LA and Hollywood. There is no real discernible centre to LA and not much to see in downtown LA. We went to Little China town and Little Tokyo which were ok but not exactly exciting. Had lunch at a little chinese restuarant in which we were the only non chinese. Arrived in Santa Monica, Los Angeles yesterday. Had a decent time in San Diego, not quite got that California feel but a decent city anyway with really good night life in the gaslamp district. We visited the San Diego zoo which is considered world class and was really good. Most impressive of the animals by far were the polar bears which are ridulously huge but also quite graceful.
