Ready for another?
Well from the glacier we got a bus to Greymouth not a great place but we were only there for a coffee then we got the trans alpine express to Christchurch. Voted one of the top ten train rides in the world, it was nice scenery all the way.
Christchurch has kind of and English feel to it, the town center is pretty, surrounding the cathedral, there are markets and and arts and crafts center. But its quite expensive compared with the south and at the end of the day its just another city.
So, we got a flight to Rotorua which is the geothermal area surrounding a lake, and it smells! all the sulpher in the air is quite a bit to get used to. Apart from that Rotorua is a great place so we stayed for a few days. Theres heaps to do, we walked round an active area with a geyser that shoots hot water about 15m into the air at 10:30 evry day. Te Puia was awsome, it has a Mouri village with traditional meeting house where we saw the Haka done properly and a kiwi house (bird), there were bubbling mud pools and hot thermal springs that were used to cook in and and arts and crafts institute where they teach traditional craft like weaving and carving. We went to a natural spa and sat in a hot mineral pool for a while talking to an old mouri lady about travelling.
We are now in Auckland and its the a******* of New Zealand! don't come here its not good at all, huge city too many people not friendly and expensive.
Any way appart from that New Zealand is a beautifull place and we have really enjoyed working/travelling here but its eating all our cash and its time to move on. Fiji here we come!!! over and out x
