Hi all, so this is gonna be hard to write as i'm using my left hand....if you havn't heard the news i broke my wrist the other day in Queenstown.
We were on our last day of 3 days boarding and it was all going really well, i was even doing the intermediate slopes... we were doing the last few runs when while doing a turn i fell backwards onto my wrist and felt it pop - oww!!
I had to be taken down the mountain while getting high on gas and air then go to the hospital where i recieved the news - although by the look of my wrist with bones going the wrong way i think i knew! I was i hospital for about 4 hours and had to have my wrist pulled and tugges to re-align the bones...i'm now in a cast for 6 weeks with more x-rays and check up next week. Wes has been amazing and now has a kid to look after, dressing me, cutting my food, doing my hair, washing me etc!! He is getting a real workout carrying all the bags.
Anyway we did have fun boarding and i'm glad we went but at the mo i think i'm feeling sorry for myself as it hurts non stop and its here till we get home...anyway enough about that. I think i'l get wes to take over as typing with your other hand is to hard!! gem xxx
Okay... i'm taking over - So did 'bambino' like his new booties?? - know they won't fit just yet, unless his toes are really really long, but i'm pretty sure he'll grow into them.
Also - did you remember the little koala clip things i sent home?
Oh and bob - the things i sent back are actually from the Steve Irwin zoo - just incase you thought i picked them up while buying petrol or something....
We're back in Christchurch now - we've pretty much 'done' the southern island and are ready to head north and go over to the north island in the next couple of days.
May try and call family members tomorrow so keep an eye or ear out for the phone!
okay - until next time.......... :p
Wes and Gem
P.S. - you see the peak of that mountain in the cover image to this blog.... well that's Mount Cook.... that's what i plummeted towards during the 45 second free fall of my Skydive!.... :s
