Well, this is it. I´ve left the country so no turning back now. Had a great leg from Sydney to Singapore. Had both seats to myself which is always a good thing. Weatherwise it´s hot and HUMID. Went and had a shower at the transit hotel and already in desperate need of another one. Am feeling pretty b*****ed, haven´t had much sleep this week, I shouldn´t have put in for nightshift and double backs on my last couple of shifts. That will teach me to be greedy. Nothing exciting to write about, got through customs ok despite that kilo of coke strapped to my chest - lol. Probably shouldn´t joke about things like that, you never know with the internet who is reading what. I love Singapore Air, they ALWAYS run on time and everything runs like clockwork in Singapore - a humid and flat version of Switzerland I think. I love this place but it is very surreal - a Stepford Wives type world where everybody is pleasant and polite - it actually makes me a bit nervous. I would love to see what Singaporeans are like behind closed doors - are they really always this nice? Does anybody ever lose it? Or is the politeness that ingrained that it has become part of their being and they are just this way they are all the time? They are weird but good, it balances out the rudeness and pushiness of the Europeans. About to board my next flight and I´m flying the next two legs with another airline so wish me luck (used points with Singapore so all I paid was around $300 in taxes for a return flight from SYD-SING - pretty good huh!. Would have been cheaper if Sydney Airport taxes weren´t so expensive - Macquarie Bank - you SUCK. Sadly had to pay for the flight from SING-BAR and SIA´s tickets were sold out so had to go with another airline.)
I've decided to dedicate each day to somebody and have a song of the day, whatever is at the top of the playlist for the day. So, the song for today, and for the whole trip really is by my favourite band, good old Fooeys (Foo Fighters) with the song Walk - what an awesome song, absolutely love it. This Camino is dedicated to Mum & Dad, I wish I'd known about this earlier and done this with Mum, she would have loved it and with her calves of steel and determination she would have left me for dead. RIP and sorry, from the bottom of my soul
