The ferry ride to Koh Lanta was a little choppy to say the least! After a while we were all asked to go down into the hole as the boat literally felt like it was going to turn over! We decided to head for Golden Bay Cottages and when we arrived in the rain the guy offered us a cottage for 400 Bhatt which had hot water and a/c. So we obviously took it for 6 quid! It seemed very quiet at the cottages and when the rain stopped we decided to have a walk along the beach as we thought the next resort did horse riding. When we got past the wind breakers we realised that maybe they had not had the best weather lately. The sea was still rough and a load of rubbish had been washed up onto the beach. As we walked along the beach we realised that loads of resorts were not open and obviously the horse riding was not available.

We headed along the road to see what was open and found a nice little restaurant called "Green Chilli". The lady explained that in about 2 weeks the sea would have cleared the beach and the weather would be fantastic. She said that we were too early!

Anyway despite the fact that we were too early we liked Koh Lanta and we think in season it would be a really nice island to visit.
