I am going back to my FACEBOOK "notes" to enter some past trips. I will do more, as time allows, probably after this upcoming trip. I chose this one to share first, because this was my very first cruise ever....and these fun ladies are also going on my trip tomorrow! (with a few more for!)
COPIED FROM NOTES ON FACEBOOK:
I decided that writing a summary might be the easiest way to share about the trip. This might take a while, so will dive in with notes about "the boat" and then move on to itinerary journal.
This was my FIRST cruise! I am very thankful to Mother for inviting me, and to her friends for accepting me. We all had a great time and it's nice that a group of women can go on these adventures and laugh so much while enjoying God's wonders across the world! We were on the Norwegian Jade ship (part of NCL cruise line)...it's a nice ship, large enough for about 2500 passengers. The decor took me by surprise---similar to a casino hotel (maybe Isle of Capri) but with nice touches like blown glass flowers on the ceiling of the atrium area. We had a room with a balcony and although we didn't stay out there much due to chilly temps, it was nice to go out to the rail as we approached the ports. The rooms are small, but I've learned that is just the way it is :-) I did like the fact that we could totally UNpack and shove the suitcases under the beds. The food was wonderful---every night we ate at the dining rooms with great choices for a 3-4 course meal. Breakfast was also at the dining room, with the exception of a couple of days of room service for early port excursions. The casino is small, but was never crowded. Mother and I had some good luck on the dice table, but blackjack was no good! They use those continuous shuffle machines, and it's impossible to sustain a winning streak. The SHOWS in the evening were a variety of acts, mostly singing and dancing....some talented young performers. The days "at sea" were a great time to rest up for the next shore excursion....we played some cards and relaxed. The crew was diligent in dispensing hand sanitizer, to prevent any sickness....it worked :-)
Photos to follow, after I get them sorted.
