Ware in the World
Our early arrival into Juneau allowed us a bit of shopping/walking time, but the rain was gloomy. Our excursion began around 1:15 when we boarded a van for a 20 min ride to the marina where we joined Captain Steve of Marv & Harv Whale watching tours. It was great! We saw a rare behavior called "bubble netting" in which the humpback whales work together to trap herring inside a wall of bubbles, so they thrust up through the water to capture about 15,000 gallons of water...then strain the fish into throat with baleen "teeth".
