So... travelling again! This time only for 3 weeks though :( and with a different partener in crime this time my dad :)

America this time, San Fran, Yosemeti, Vegas, Grand Canyon, San Diego, LA and wherever else we end up!

Well we left sunny London on Saturday 6th March and flew to San Fran, no tears this time i had to get my dad to hold back! Our flight was at 11am, however didnt take off till 12 som esilly delays but all was fine. Got to watch a fair few films including inglorious and sandra bullock film, whilst dad ate alot of chicken!! Flight took around 10 hrs!

Got to San Fran and first things first was lets get the car... me, i wanted a sports car! ha... and as we picked up the keys i asked for a soft top, we walked round and turns out we got a goldy, bronzy coloured Jeep! Awsome!! even though we were next to a Mustang convertable. Obviously dad could drive first and after me giving some fantastic directions we found the holiday in we were staying out. and oh my god! comfortable beds or what! haha! We mustve got into San fran at around 3/4pm and we decided to have a walk down to Fishermans Wharf, there was quite lot going on, lots of people doing paintings and generally people trying to make money! We took a look at Peir 39 and around the shops. I also bought some Clam Chower which came in a bread bowl which was really nice and we had a beer in the sports bar! Following that it was a pretty early night.

The following day we woke up at silly o'clock... around 8, and headied straight to dennys for some breakfast which happened to be underneath our hotel. We both got fry-ups of some sort, except i ordered - Grits - which i thought would be like hash browns... oh no how wrong could i be, it was like porridge but worse, dad then asked what people had with it thinking it would be jam but they said salt and scrambled eggs!! it was ok but dont think ill be asking for that again soon!

Following breakfast we headed down the wharf to get on a Tram into town... these were quality, you can just hang on to the side as they travel up and down the steepest roads ive been on! me and dad both really enjoyed it and got on and off a few times. We had a look round china town, the financial district and looked in the museum too! Then went to Lombard Street which is extremely steep and has a winding road, we got some good fotos here! That evening we headed to one of the piers as we were going on the Alcatraz Tour (the evening 4.15 - 7.15 one) this was really good as we walked round the prison, listened to the audio tour and found out about the famous prisoners such as Al Copone, i really enjoyed it even though we were freeeezing! definately havent brought the right clothing as you will find out! After the tour we walked back and got some Clam Chowder and a Chilli Beef bread bowl then off for an early night again, as the next day we were leaving San Fran.

Up early on Monday... we both got up at around 5, and dad decided to go for a walk whilst i stayed in bed. He was gone 2 hrs whilst i watched fresh prince! ha. we then had breakfast in Dennys again and dad ended up having steak.. Jank!! where as i had an omlete.. so random he had wraps with aswell!! We then jumped in the car and headed to the bridge for some photos then over to the otherside towards Yosemite. This was a very long drive we stopped off a a very dodgy looking place with lots of mexican looking people wnad one drunk guy as dad for some money, haha!! i then took to the wheel! I really enjoyed driving up the windy roads and in the middle of nowhere passing through towns with just a population of 150!! however i dont think my dad was enjoying it... backseat driver!! haha. We finally made it to a town called Groveland, after travelling up 2000ft up some huge mountains and beautiful landscapes! Here is where i suggested stopping... its just before the park... luckily we did as i jumped out for a pee i spoke to a guy in a shop who said we may need some chains for the wheels as there snow!!? We checked into a nice little hotel in Groveland where the high street is like a scene out of the outback! We then headed over to the Saloon where i beat dad 7-2 at pool, ha! And we sat at teh bar for a few beers chatting to the barman. It was then announced it was snowing.. yes snowing outside!!! Ok it was very cold but i wasnt expecting snow! We're not to sure now weather we will make it into Yosemite now which is a little gutting but we havent really got the clothes and not too sure about the driving so we are going to see how it is in the morning!! Im actually sat now in the hotel writing this and its not even 8'clock it pitch black and snowing and im shattered!! so off to bed now! after being given a pot of coffee between us haha!!. Have to see tomo whether we make it to the park or off to Las Vegas straight away, ill obviously keep this updated with what happens! But so far so good im really enjoying it, just wish it was a little warmer :)
