After a very relaxing couple of nights at Shallow Inlet, we are all feeling recharged.
Pete and Em put the tinnie in for a fish. Em caught 2 whiting just 2cm short of size.
Kayce and I enjoyed reading and playing games. Girls had scooters out and enjoyed the outdoors.
Drove into Wilsons Prom, absolutely amazed at the size of the park and the people. 484 camping sites full to capacity. A tourist centre, police station, ambulance, fire truck and shop!
A small shuttle bus service operated around the beaches and walking trails.
We went and swam in the Bass Straight at squeaky beach, the sand being round quartz sand.
The rolling hills made me feel queasy as. We were quite high up driving through some parts.
Leaving this morning at record time of 830, we are having a huge drive 806km to Nowra. 8 and a half hours on the GPS. The conditions to travel are good 15 degrees and no wind.
Regional towns of Sale and Bairnsdale were very large.
Stopped on Lakes Entrance for lunch. A good looking sea side town that was very busy. Would be a good spot to come back to spend more time. Caravan parks a plenty. Ocean and river for fishing.
Back into NSW late in the afternoon. Pete glad to be rid of Victorian drivers!
Hit Eden around 4, debated pulling up camp or keep going another 4 hours.
The girls keen to get there and spend the next couple of days stationary.
Onward bound to catch up with Cooch, Tracey, Brayden and Beau.
Passed through some beautiful towns with big Rivers that meet the sea. A definite travel plan to come back and slowly tour the area.
Arrived late evening.
The expected GPS time blown put by 4 hours!
Ok lesson number 2 - GPS not reliable as a source of truth especially when towing and does not account for hills and ranges which slow us down.
Tracey had a BBQ waiting for us and we caught up into the early hours of the morning.
