It's been raining non stop since Sunday, not just a bit of rain but torrential rain with water running off the trees and plants in cascades. All Aussies love rain because they don't get enough of it and it is their only water source. Had planned for a few days chill out on the beach her in Byron and maybe attempt another surf lesson, it's due to stop soon but then everyone has their own opinion on the weather...!! At least it's not cold like it is in Blighty.....

I escaped catalogue tat picking and packing and went to Bathurst for the famous Bathurst 1000 V8 supercar racing. It was fantastic, a massively hot day, about 60-70,000 other people, lots of cars, great atmosphere and a 7 hour race all viewed from the aptly named Mount Panorama. That was last Sunday. So tomorrow is my last day at work and I get to head south to see Corinne again who I haven't seen since January!! Useless!! We have some sledging up at Lake Tekapo planned, ye-ha! Final Postcard from Aussie: Flew back to Sydney from Cairns with the very Virgin Pacific Blue whose staff kept everyone amused for the whole flight. In Sydney I met up with the lovely Spike ( a fellow traveller I met up the coast) and briefly saw Helen again, it's still strange seeing someone 20 years later when you only remember each other as children!
