Day 19 (28th August) - THE CRUISE. We awoke to an overcast slightly cooler morning. Whilst walking up to the bus stop there was a fine misty rain. Day 18 A slow unhurried start to the day. We were heading for Kitsalano Beach and decided we would first walk to Queen Elizabeth Park about 10 minutes away. Passing a golf course in one corner of the park we headed up the hill (so much for leaving those behind in the Rockies!) into the park. Day 17 After an early bed and an early start, we were on the road just after 7.00am. It was a rather windy road climbing and descending the mountains ranges as we drove towards Whistler. It would be an easy 3 to 4 hour drive today without stops. At one stage we had to wait on the mountain road while road workers, hooked up in harnesses, cleared possible rock and rubble slide onto the road. Day 4 After a restful night's sleep, we were up and raring to go (energy levels and muscles ready for action). A slightly later start to the morning only leaving home at 7.30am this morning. Day 2 - First day sightseeing in Vancouver. After a good night's sleep, we awoke to a lovely day. The temperature reached to mid 20's. We headed up to Main street to catch the bus into downtown Vancouver. A very helpful bus driver informed us that we could not use paper money to purchase a ticket, only coins.
