Day 20 ( 29th August)
We woke to found the ship with a slight side to side roll. This was obviously preferable to up and down as Vince was able to eat breakfast and keep it down.
As this was a day of sailing we had a leisurely breakfast then went for a walk around the deck (4 laps around the lower promenade deck = 1 mile). Whilst walking we saw some whales in the distance and also some dolphins/porpoise swimming beside the ship. We then attended a talk by ship locations staff in regard to what to do when in port on the days ahead.
We then headed to the first of the digital workshops. It was titled Bring photos to life with Windows 10. We learnt how to touch up photos by brightness, cropping, touching up imperfections and more.
A coffee and biscotti in the Explorer Café and we headed back to our room. We got caught up watching the end of San Andreas on the in house movie.
Our second digital workshop was learning how to "Navigate Windows 10". As we both have this version on our laptops it was nice to learn a few things on making the most of this system.
We then attended to talk about the land package to our cruise. It was interesting to discover that there were a number of options to this add on package. We were under the impression that our 4 day add on was the only option. Interesting to note that no meals were included in this extra package. We are already thinking of economical ways around this exclusion.
Another cup of coffee from the café (we have a drinks package that entitles us to 15 drinks a day- coffees, soft drinks and alcohol) and then 6 laps around the promenade deck before deciding to go to the gym.
Back for a shower and dress for the first of the formal/gala dinners. Up to the Lido bar for pre dinner cocktails. Vince had a beer whilst Margaret had a Mango Mojito. The Gala dinner had 4 courses instead of the normal 3 course meal. Following our meal, we went to the show titles Classique. It was a mix of elegant classical pop hits and opera classics along with dance troupe.
Before going to bed we put watches back an hour to accommodate Alaskan time to which we would awake.
