Day 25 - At sea again (3rd September)
We awoke with a shock (well actually the wife did!). After our midnight jaunt we ended up sleeping in until around 10.00am. Quickly getting up, showering we headed up to breakfast only to discover they were just cleaning up. We managed a fruit compote and a sticky bun and a cuppa. Oh well, it made up for all the other food we had been eating and we were not going to die from starvation. Brunch could be had in the dining room or we could wait an hour for lunch.
We then headed to the self-serve laundry. Unfortunately, lots of other guests had the same idea. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a washing machine but the dryers had a queue. This meant we had to stay so as not to miss our place for a dryer. As there was another digital workshop Vince went to this while Margaret watched clothes going around, around and around. Once the clothes were in the dryer she managed to see about 20 minutes of the workshop before heading back to the laundry. The exciting point to the laundry was that there was still time left on the dryer from the previous person and our clothes managed to dry for the most part in this remaining time.
Laundry done and folded, we headed up for an early lunch. Although the sky was overcast and there was some drizzle the open waters were calm (something Vince was particularly happy about).
As we had to have our bags out this evening we then started to pack. Our large suitcases would be forwarded to Fairbanks while an overnight bag would be sent to or hotel in Anchorage. After such an exciting day we opted for an early dinner in the buffet restaurant before finalising our packing and an early night as we had to be up 4.45am to have breakfast before disembarking at 6.15am.
