The night of August 14-15, the Allies invaded the southern coast of France. Intended to coincide with the Normandy invasion in June, the lack of ships & the long Italian campaign postponed it until August. We were there 70 years & one day after the invasion. Look closely at the picture, & you will see who went where, & how long it took them to "liberate" the south of France.
