Ok so last night was horrendous. I was up 4 times during the night and I didn't sleep well at all. I was scared to even drink water because it was going straight though me... the only plus side was that it wasn't just me that was feeling like this. James and Stu both had a horrendous night last night too. I was really nervous about spending 9 hours on the boat again, while feeling rubbish. I didn't have anything to eat at breakfast, just two rehydration sachets as I literally don't think I have any water in my body.
It was another 6.30am breakfast and back on the boat for 7am! I spent as much time as possible this morning trying to catch up with my blog again and take my mind off my tummy. I'm slowly managing to get there, now only 3 days to write. I slept from 10am till about 12pm to try and catch up on the sleep I didnt get last night.
Yesterday we had all opted in for a group lunch on the boat cooked by the captains wife. Well you can imagine I wasn't up for eating anything especially a massive Laos buffet. Charles insisted I came and sat at the table as I had already paid for it, which I was quite annoyed at as it was pure torture sitting there with really sore tummy cramps trying to eat when I didn't want too. The food did look gorgeous but I just wasn't able for anything.
We stopped at a check point to register the boat with some police force in the middle of the afternoon which took about 10 minutes. By this stage all I wanted was a proper bed and a decent toilet, it wasn't much fun on this boat :( My stomach cramps felt like someone was sticking a knife right into my tummy!!
We eventually reached the Laos/Thailand border at 4.30pm. It had been the longest day ever. Our boat dropped us at the Laos side of the Mekong river and we piled into tuk tuk's that took us to the immigration office where we got our passport stamped out. We all then got a small boat across the river to the Thailand side, where we had to fill out more visa forms and get our 15 day Thai visa stamp. It is such a fluke because my Thai visa runs out on the 4th March and that's the exact day I'm flying out... phew!! That was lucky!
We then all piled into another tuk tuk, with all our bags strapped to the roof, that took us to our hotel. I asked Lauren and Nikki if they would mind if I had my own room again because I obviously wasnt well and they were totally fine with that. By the time I got to my room, I was in agony, totally exhausted and felt like i was dying :(
Adam tried to phone me a few times but I wasn't able to speak I was too sore and upset. I uploaded 8 days of my blog to the internet which I was chuffed about, so only 2 days to catch up on now. The hotel had amazing views right over the Mekong River, just wish this tummy thing would hurry up and go away!!! I'm trying to drink as much water as possible but it doesn't feel like its staying in my body very long at all.
I wanted to go out with the group for dinner, but it would have been stupid because I was so sore. Instead they were going to bring me back a homemade loaf and some butter if I'm feeling up for some dry bread later. I popped the paracetamol, loperamide and rennies to try and feel better along with drinking as much water as I could.
I did start to feel a bit better, by that I mean the cramps were every 15minutes instead of every 5minutes. Anyways Holly was texting me and I spoke to her on facetime which was just what I needed, a wee distraction. She also went out to her garden and wrote 'Hi Vicz' in the snow with a smiley face and took a photo and sent it to me which totally made me feel better :) Adam then skyped for 45 minutes and I managed to speak to Shonagh too so I had the best night I possibly could with the accompanying stomach cramps. When I was on the phone, I also uploaded some of the photos from the tubing day onto Facebook for the rest of the group to get.
The girls came back about 10.30pm and said they had a really nice meal. They brought me the homemade wheat loaf and I actually managed to eat 3 slices but ten minutes later I felt like I was in labour again haha.
Please can I be feeling better in the morning... Please... xxx
