We weren't leaving till 11am this morning or should I say that's the time we were meant to leave. So I slept right up until my alarm went off at 10am and it was such a good sleep. It was the most comfy bed I had slept in in weeks :) I had fresh fruit and yoghurt for breakie and by the time everyone was ready we actually left at 11.50!! We stopped at a 7eleven for lunch on the go and I got a cheese toastie. It was meant to be a 5 and a half hour journey in a public bus today but since we paid extra to get a private bus it only took us just over 3 hours to get to the ferry terminal. I had bought a few DVDs at the market in Chiang Mai so we put on Change Up in the small tv at the front of the bus. I had already seen it the other day so I managed to write a couple days of my blog. When I checked the weather forecast the other day for Koh Samui, it said Tueaday and Friday were going to have thunder storms, and it was right... about 2pm it just started chucking it down so we had to close all the windows as we were getting soaked. I really hope it clears up for the rest of the week and we get a few sunny days on the islands :)
It was 3.15pm when we arrived at the ferry terminal and the ferry wasn't due to depart until 4pm. The ferry crossing took and hour and a half so literally the whole day was spent travelling. It was a huge ferry and we all managed to get a seat, I now only have one day of my blog to catch up on which I am super delighted about. We arrived at our resort at 6.30pm and the rooms were really nice. I was sharing with Julieanne again, as this tour doesn't seem to change room mates which is a bit annoying as its a good way to get to know everyone.
We literally just dropped our bags and went for a walk with Bowling down to the beach. It was dark by this time but we just went to get our bearings and find out where we actually were. The beach was gorgeous and there were bars and restaurants all the way along, we went and paddled but it was like going into a warm bath the water was so hot. We couldn't wait to spend the day here tomorrow. As we had been travelling all day, we were starving so the whole group just headed straight to the hotel restaurant for dinner. We were all in the same clothes we had been travelling in but we were all in the same boat so we didn't care. I had sweet and sour pork but had to wait forever for it, it was worth the wait though when it eventually arrived. Since none of us were dressed for going out, we headed to 7eleven and bought some drink to take back to the hotel. I bought 8 Smirnoff ices, the rest bought alcopops and the boys bought a bottle o vodka so we all headed to the pool at the hotel and had a chilled out night. It was so much fun, the water was so warm it was like a bath so we all just sat in the swimming pool or the pool side drinking with music playing. It was a lovely setting with palm trees all around and we watched the Chinese lanterns being realised into the sky which was such a pretty sight.
In the end there was just Kelly, Matt, Jamie, Bowling and me left, and we just stayed chatting and drinking until about 2am. We all had wifi too so I spoke to Adam for ages and emailed my availability for work next week :( It was such a thought but hey it's done now.
It was just a chilled out night and the first time I had really drank since becoming ill. I wasn't tipsy at all, the boys were after the polished off the vodka between the two of them though haha. xxx
